Hello, I’m Helen, the owner of TheCraftyBlueCow.

I am a mom of 4 and a nanny to 3 beautiful grandchildren, you will always see my makes with their names on as they get most of the items I make.

I started my little business in October 2019 after losing my father-in-law to post surgery prostate cancer complications.

Previous to starting my little business I worked in community care for a number of years, once my father-in-law became poorly doing my job became increasingly more difficult, so I took the decision to leave and start this.

I purchased a huge embroidery machine a Brother V5LE, it arrived and I was petrified of it and left it in the box for a few days before getting it out. I made a few little items and then started buying digital files and making more items.

My little business grew rapidly during the 2020 lock down and I had to purchase a 2nd machine a brother V3, making over 100+ hand sanitisers a week was hard but very rewarding knowing I was doing my bit for the safety of the public during this time.

I work from our small 3rd bedroom at home, and thoroughly enjoy creating embroidered items for you to purchase. I have even managed to have a go at digitizing my own files.

The name CRAFTYBLUECOW comes from my love of crafting, I love the colour blue and I used to live in a street called Cowslip so I put the 3 together and came up with my company name.
